A Growth List alternative, for the raises nobody announced.
Growth List is cheap, large and genuinely good at what it does, and it names recruiting firms as a buyer. Every company on it, though, is one whose funding was reported. That is the half of the UK market everyone else is already calling.
The honest summary
Cheaper, bigger, and announced.
Where Growth List is better
- $29 to $149 a month, a fraction of this
- 5,300+ UK startups and 107 countries
- Verified contact emails, LinkedIn and X on every record
- Up to ten decision makers per company on the top plan
- Tech stack and job-opening data
- Your rate is locked in for as long as you stay
For contacts at announced companies, this is excellent value.
Where Priorfile is better
- Reads the filing, so it sees what was never announced
- One sector per edition, not 107 countries to filter
- Director and controlling-person names from the register
- An announcement check printed on every row
- A published accuracy check: 30 rows of 30 verified by hand
- Every number linked to the document it came from
For the UK companies that never announced, it is the only list.

Growth List names recruiting firms as a buyer and is honest about what it is: a large, cheap, well-maintained list of companies whose funding was reported somewhere. If reported funding is enough for your desk, buy Growth List and save the money. Priorfile exists for the part of the market that never gets reported.
Questions
Asked plainly.
Is Priorfile a Growth List alternative?
Partly. Both tell you which companies have money to spend. Growth List builds its list from funding announcements across 107 countries and includes verified contact emails for $29 to $149 a month. Priorfile reads UK share allotment filings, so it also carries companies that never announced anything, but it is UK only, names directors rather than emails, and costs £299.
Which is better value?
Growth List, on price per company, and it is not close. Priorfile is better value only if the unannounced companies are worth more to you than the announced ones, which for a UK desk they usually are, because nobody else is calling them.
Does Growth List cover UK startups?
Yes, 5,300 of them, updated weekly. All of them announced. The comparison is not UK coverage against no UK coverage, it is announced coverage against filing coverage.
Do I get email addresses with Priorfile?
No. You get the director and controlling-person names from the public register, which are current by law. B2B contact data decays at roughly 22.5% a year; a name on the statutory register does not. Finding that person on LinkedIn takes about fifteen seconds.
Prices read from each provider’s own pages on 1 September 2026. If any of this is out of date or wrong, tell me and it gets corrected.
100 companies took the money last week. Three in four never told anyone.
The next register is published Monday. Read last week’s first — there is nothing to enter and nothing to book.
