“We already use Clay.”

Good. Keep it. Clay is an excellent platform and this does not replace it. But its funding signal reads announcements, which means it cannot show you a UK company that raised quietly. That company is what this is for.

The honest summary

This is not a Clay alternative.

If you already run Clay, keep it. Clay is an enrichment and outbound platform with a hundred data providers behind it, and nothing here replaces that. Its fundraising signal, though, is built from news and announcements, the same as every other signal on the market.

So the useful question is not which to buy. It is what you feed Clay.

What Clay does that Priorfile never will

  • Enrichment waterfalls across many providers
  • Contact and email discovery at scale
  • Sequences, scoring and CRM sync
  • Signals of every kind: hiring, news, technology, job changes
  • Tables, formulas and automations you build yourself
  • A platform your whole team can work inside

Clay is the workbench. It is very good and it is not going anywhere.

What Priorfile adds that Clay's signal does not carry

  • UK companies whose raise was never announced anywhere
  • The amount actually stated on the filing, not a reported figure
  • The filing itself, linked, so a claim can be checked
  • Director and controlling-person names from the register
  • An explicit announcement check on every row
  • A weekly list small enough to work by hand

Priorfile is an input for it: a UK list nobody else has surfaced.

Team subscribers get the week as a CSV for exactly this reason. Take the companies, enrich them in Clay, sequence them there. The point of Priorfile is that those companies were not in anyone’s list to begin with.

Questions

Asked plainly.

Is Priorfile a Clay alternative?

No, and it would be silly to claim otherwise. Clay is an enrichment and outbound platform. Priorfile is a weekly list of UK companies that took equity investment. Most desks that use both will put the Priorfile list into Clay.

Clay already has fundraising signals. Why pay for another?

Because those signals are built from news and announcements. In the week we tested, 45 of 60 UK companies that filed a share allotment had no announcement of any kind, so no announcement-based signal could have carried them. Clay will show you the announced half brilliantly.

Can I import the register into Clay?

Yes. Team and Firm subscribers get the week as a CSV. Import it, enrich it, sequence it.

What about Apollo or ZoomInfo?

Same answer. They are contact and intent platforms whose funding data originates in announcements. The gap is the same gap.

Prices read from each provider’s own pages on 1 September 2026. If any of this is out of date or wrong, tell me and it gets corrected.

Every comparison

100 companies took the money last week. Three in four never told anyone.

The next register is published Monday. Read last week’s first — there is nothing to enter and nothing to book.
